15 Most Notorious Hollywood Womanizers

Just like Tom Cruise’s seduction-guru character in the movie Magnolia, who advocates a seduce and destroy approach, everyday womanizers can become known for their guile and tactics. Is it nice for the jilted women? Not really, but sometimes all you can do is give the guy props. We know of the legendary womanizing feats of characters like James Bond and Casanova, but we found 15 of Hollywood’s most notorious, real life womanizers of today.

Warren Beatty

Actor-screenwriter-director Warren Beatty is perhaps not as well known for his award-winning work in Bonny and Clyde and Bugsy as he is for escapades with women. He often had high-profile relationships with his co-stars, including Madonna, Diane Keaton, Julie Christie and apparently many, many more. How many? Well, according to a recent biography of his: 12,775. It may seem like a tall tale — supposing that he slept with one woman, per day for a year, it would take him 35 years straight to accomplish that goal. Either way, he got some serious tail.

Colin Farrell

Irish actor Colin Farrell, once names one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People,” has definitely made the rounds. He was once married to actress Amelia Warner for four months and has been connected to a long list of famous actresses including Britney Spears, Demi Moore, Lindsay Lohan, Angelina Jolie, and Paris Hilton, just to name a few. More recently, he was involved with Polish actress Alicja Bachleda-Curuś and they now have a child together — but he also had a child with model Kim Bordenave in 2003. But wait, there’s more; what womanizer would be complete without a nice sex tape? Colin sued former girlfriend and Playboy model Jessica Young for trying to sell all 14 seconds worth of fun.

John Mayer

Crooner John Mayer loves to sing about sensitive, lovey things, but it’s all really a front. He was named Cad of the Year in 2007 by Us Weekly, and his list of femmes is pretty long, including Jennifer Anniston, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mandy Moore, Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly and Jessica Simpson. That’s just a short list of a few bigger names we know he dated. His recent interview in Playboy magazine solidified accusations of being not only a kiss-and-tell boyfriend, but a misogynist and racist too.

Tommy Lee

Rocker Tommy Lee has been married three times — to Elaine Irwin Bergen, Heather Locklear, and Pamela Anderson. Besides those lovely ladies, he’s had several domestic partners, also including Pamela Anderson. Lee and Anderson married four days after meeting and he can’t seem to stop going back to her. He’s also dated some of the sexiest women in Hollywood, including Carmen Electra, Pink, Kimberley Stewart, and porn star Jenna Jameson. Those are all the big names he’s been with; he’s pretty much known for tomcatting around town when he’s not answering to any one particular girl.

Wilmer Valderrama

Best known for his role as Fez on the sitcom That 70’s Show, Wilmer Valderrama has developed quite the real-life reputation as a womanizer. He dated Mandy Moore for 18 months, then bounced to Lindsay Lohan for a year or so. He’s also been linked to Hilary Duff and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Once on the Howard Stern radio show, he bragged that he had stolen Mandy Moore’s virginity, but the jury’s still out on that one.

John Cusack

American actor and screenwriter John Cusack gained fame after appearing in some of the 80’s most iconic films, like Sixteen Candles. In Say Anything he became this ideal romantic “good guy,” but he maintained relative privacy in his personal life. Though he’s tried to keep that privacy throughout the years, we’ve managed to gather a few names of his Hollywood ladies: Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, Claire Forlani, Minnie Driver, and Neve Campbell. Oh, let’s not forget Jennifer Love Hewitt who spilled his sleazy first-date habits — Cusack once showed up to an actress’ house on the first date, and, after she opened the door, he asked if they could just have sex immediately, because he had to get up early the next day. Not quite so smooth there, John.

George Clooney

Actor George Clooney was married once — from 1989 to 1993 to Talia Balsam. After that, he was back on the market in full force. Back in 2006, his girlfriend was Sarah Larson, but after a year-long relationship with her, he announced that he would never marry again — he even put a $100,000 bet on it. His past girlfriends include Kelly Preston, Charlize Theron, Krista Allen, and Teri Hatcher. He was rumored to have also dated Renee Zellweger and Lucy Liu. Who knows who he’s with now, but we’re sure he doesn’t ever have to worry about being alone.

Gerard Butler

Scottish actor Gerard Butler’s international breakthrough was the screen adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera, but he truly gained status with his epic role in 300. He insists he’s not a womanizer, but his actions speak otherwise — or maybe he just enjoys being photographed with women. His rumored relationships include Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, Naomi Campbell, Shanna Moakler, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Rosario Dawson.

Charlie Sheen

Actor Charlie Sheen is best known these days for the sitcom Two and a Half Men and he’s definitely slept with more than two and a half men’s worth of women. He’s second on Maxim’s “10 Living Sex Legends” list, at having purportedly been with over 5,000 women. The number hasn’t been proven, obviously, but it still doesn’t change the fact that Sheen is a huge womanizer. He’s currently married to Brooke Mueller — his third attempt at the married life — and he has five children, with at least one from each marriage. His current relationship is on the rocks, so it’s only a matter of time until the new round begins.

Stephen Dorff

Best known for his roles in Cecil B and Blade, Stephen Dorff likes to deny that he’s a womanizer. The list of his conquests is long, and includes Pamela Anderson (several times over), Alicia Silverstone, Rachel Stevens, Bridget Hall, Kaya Jones, and even “equal opportunity” Michael Stipe. It was rumored that he was dating his publicist, but that was back mid-2009, so who knows who he’s gotten into now.

Josh Hartnett

American actor Josh Hartnett rose to fame with his roles in Black Hawk Down and Pearl Harbor — and had millions of teenage girls swooning. He has been on quite a few “most beautiful” lists and has recently fallen off the map for a bit, though he has dated some big names in Hollywood — notably Scarlett Johansson. He’s also been linked to beauties including Gisele Bundchen, Katie Holmes, Penelope Cruz, and Rihanna.

Jude Law

British actor Jude Law has been active since 1987, but The Talented Mr. Ripley and Cold Mountain brought him mainstream. He’s taken home several awards for his acting, as well as a “Sexiest Man Alive” title, but past the “good boy” looks lies a womanizer. Law was married to Sadie Frost from 1997 to 2003 and had three children with her, but only a year after their divorced was finalized, he became engaged to Sienna Miller. About six months after becoming engaged, he had an affair with his nanny — it’s surprising that it took Miller more than a year to leave his ass for that one. In 2008 he knocked up a model he was seeing for a brief time, and it’s been reported that Law and Miller may be rekindling their relationship after all.

Ryan Philippe

Actor Ryan Phillippe shot to fame in the hit I Know What You Did Last Summer, then later cemented his place on fangirls’ walls with Cruel Intentions. Back in 1997, he met his future ex-wife, actress Reese Witherspoon, at her 21st birthday party. The couple married in 1999 and had two children during their 7-year marriage. In 2006, while filming Stop-Loss, he met Australian actress Abbie Cornish and reportedly began fooling around. Ryan and Reese soon split. Ryan and Abbie dated until the end of February 2010. He hasn’t changed at all, constantly hitting the clubs and getting with other women; it’s no wonder he can’t shake the “Hollywood sleazebag” rep.

Jack Nicholson

Legend Jack Nicholson needs no intro. He has staked claim to more than 2,000 women’s crotches, and counting. We don’t doubt it. He has had four children with three different women (claimed) and though his longest relationship was with Anjelica Huston, after 16 years it quickly ended once it was discovered Nicholson impregnated Rebecca Broussard — who knows how many other women he was hitting up during that time. At 72, he’s still kickin’, and apparently only uses Viagra when he’s with more than one woman.

Kevin Connolly

Entourage actor Kevin Connolly has admitted that his fame makes it easy to meet women, and he definitely takes advantage of it. He’s been linked with Nicky Hilton, Hayden Panettiere, Julianne Hough and most recently Chloe Sevigny. Not more then a month later he was seen with an unidentified blonde on some beach — he’s definitely getting around.

13 Movies Completed Post-Mortem

dead-celebrity-montage

There are plenty of things that make movies great – from the acting and sound effects to the stunning visual effects. But what happens if an actor dies before the movie is complete? As they often say, the show must go on. Here are 13 movies successfully completed after a star cast member had died and one that never made it to post-production.

Giant

james-dean

James Dean was a legendary actor and is an American icon. His role in Giant was the last movie he’d ever get to act in, due to his sudden death in a head on high-speed collision in California. His death on September 30, 1955 was a huge loss to Hollywood filmmakers as well as his friends, family and fans. Giant was near completion at the time of James’ death, although one scene featuring Dean mumbling (acting drunkenly) was not clear enough and was re-recorded by his Giant co-stars after his death. James Dean went on to win a posthumous “Best Actor Academy Award” for his incredible work in Giant. The film was a huge success and won multiple Academy Awards.

The Return of the Musketeers

roy-kinnear

Roy Kinnear was a great English actor that had started his career out performing in theater. His last act, however, was in The Return of the Musketeers. In September of 1988, during filming a scene on horseback, he fell and broke his pelvis. He was immediately taken to a Madrid hospital where he died of a heart attack the next day at the age of 54. After his death, a stand-in completed his incomplete scenes and the movie went on to finish production. The Return of the Musketeers received mixed reviews, mostly lukewarm results –- but it was not because of Roy’s performance.

Hunchback of Notre Dame

Mary Wickes was an award winning American actress who made her breakthrough in the Broadway musical The Farmer Takes a Wife, where she starred alongside Henry Fonda. She was known for her distinct voice, and in the last movie she was ever involved in was a voice role for The Hunchback of Notre Dame. She voiced Laverne the Gargoyle, alongside Demi Moore, Kevin Kline, Jason Alexander, and more. The Hunchback of Notre Dame went on to be a successful Disney classic. Mary Wickes suffered multiple health problems including gastrointestinal bleeding, hypertension, anemia and breast cancer. It all added up and she died during surgery in 1995. Hunchback was released in 1996.

Twilight Zone: The Movie

In Twilight Zone: The Movie, there were actually three actors that met their fate before the movie was finished. Vic Morrow and two immigrant Vietnamese children (as extras) were all killed in a stunt helicopter crash due to a pyrotechnic explosion. Twilight Zone: The Movie went on to be a flop at the box office. Vic Morrow was just 53 when he died in 1982.

The Exorcist

Irish actor Jack Macgowran signed on to do a movie with director William Friedkin titled The Exorcist. It turned out to be one of the most profitable horror films in the past few decades, but had some very strange (perceived to be paranormal) activity on the set. On many occasions, a priest was actually brought in to bless the set. Some of the actors were injured doing simple scenes with little activity and the set even burned down and had to be rebuilt. However, the most tragic event that happened during filming was the death of Jack Macgowran, at the age of 54, from flu complications.

The Crow

Brandon Lee, son of martial art master Bruce Lee, also tragically died on-set. While filming a scene for The Crow, Brandon Lee was accidentally killed by a blank bullet that had been lodged in a gun. The blank fired on the second pull of the trigger and fatally wounded Lee. He was shot in the abdomen area and later died. The Crow went on to have box office success as well as winning numerous Academy awards and Brandon Lee was nominated for Best Male Actor for his role in the film.

Gladiator

Oliver Reed was another great English actor whose roles usually portrayed him as a tough guy. Also well known for his excessive drinking, Reed was always telling stories of when he drank 106 pints of beer over a two-day binge prior to marrying Josephine Burge. While on break from filming Gladiator, he died of a heart attack at the age of 61 and was said to have been extremely drunk at the time of his death. His remaining scenes were shot using CGI and a mannequin as his body double. Gladiator was a box office smash hit and won a ton of awards, including five Academy awards.

From Russia With Love

In the James Bond film From Russia With Love, Mexican actor Pedro Armendáriz played the role of Karim Bey. Pedro struggled with soreness in his hips and was diagnosed with cancer. He died in 1963 at the age of 51 and From Russia With Love broke international box office records and went on to be the second highest rated Bond film after Dr. No.

Wagons East

A proud-to-be Canadian actor, John Candy also met his fate at an early age while working on a film. Although he had begun to improve his health by quitting smoking and losing weight, John still wasn’t able to avoid his previously unhealthy lifestyle catching up to him. Wagons East was being shot in Mexico, where John had a heart attack and died in 1994 at the age of 43. Although he had completed Canadian Bacon prior to his death, the release of it was delayed. Wagons East was a box office flop.

Game of Death

One of the most influential martial artist/actors in the world was Bruce Lee. After suffering from frequent headaches, as well as seizures, Lee was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with cerebral edema. Game of Death was Lee’s last project before his death in 1973 at the young age of 27. Although the film was a box office success, it was not widely liked due to the footage of Lee’s actual funeral being in the movie.

Queen of the Damned

aaliyah

Starting her career out as a singer and model, Aaliyah was cast as the lead with Stuart Townsend in Queen of the Damned, directed by Neil Jordan. Aaliyah had finished all of her scenes before she was killed in a plane crash, but there were some missing audio tracks, which her brother Rashad Haughton completed in her place. Queen of the Damned was completed; however, it was not widely received by Anne Rice fans (because the movie was loosely based around the book series). Aaliyah’s performance in the movie was widely praised.

The Matrix: Reloaded

If you remember The Matrix series, you’ll remember the kind woman known as the Oracle. Played by Gloria Foster, the Oracle was a key role in the movie series, guiding Neo to find himself. Gloria died from diabetes complications before a few of her scenes in the film were finished. For the next Matrix movie, her character was replaced by Mary Alice. The Matrix: Reloaded crushed the box office and to this day is still one of the top grossing R-rated movies.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

The late Heath Ledger was one of the greatest Australian actors ever born. He was a compassionate cowboy in Brokeback Mountain, a villainous Joker in The Dark Knight, and for his final film role in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus he starred as Tony. His character, oddly enough, was to change appearances throughout the film. After Ledger’s sudden death, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell volunteered to take on the role in honor of their friend. The movie is set to come out in North America on December 25th, 2009. It has been premiered in Europe, and has been given a wide variety of reviews.

And One Film That Was Never Finished…

Something’s Got to Give

marilyn-monroe

Marilyn Monroe was one of the most iconic American actresses to ever grace the big screen. Known for her sexy style and smooth on-screen performances, as well as a notorious affair with President John F. Kennedy. The last film she ever worked on was Something’s Got to Give, in 1962. She was ill with sinusitis while filming the movie and frequently experienced high temperatures. Harry Weinstein recalls seeing her being physically ill while preparing for some of her scenes, saying she was “terrified” before a performance. She was ultimately fired from the movie due to a lack of attendance on the set. Her death came shortly after, an apparent suicide via an overdose of barbiturates. Something’s Got to Give was abandoned, and to this day remains unfinished.

montage

If Hollywood is known for one thing, it would be how faked everything is. Movies sets are reduced to green screens, props, and some great acting. Today, stunts have been made to look real by professionals sitting behind a computer editing film for hours on end – but the art of the stunt has not been completely forgotten by some actors that feel the need to put themselves in harm’s way to make a great performance.

Daniel Craig

daniel-craig

After Daniel Craig took up the role of super-suave James Bond in Casino Royale, he was faced with the challenge of doing most of his own stunts. Sure, he went through loads of punch-ups and acquired scratches and bruises all over, but the real challenge came when he was cast for Quantum of Solace in 2008. Craig was faced with one of his most challenging stunts yet – a leap of faith from three stories up, onto a moving bus. Now this may seem like a cakewalk for most stuntmen, but Daniel Craig has a fear of heights. This stunt was so dangerous ultimately because he had to know exactly when to jump – moments before the bus would be under him. Had he missed his cue or jumped too soon, he would have either been run over by a large motor vehicle, or hit the hard ground.

Buster Keaton

buster-keaton

Buster Keaton was known in the physical comedy era as “The Great Stone Face” because of his famous deadpan expression. Some of his more dangerous stunts can be seen in the 1920’s flick Sherlock Jr., where he actually broke his neck in a scene involving a water tank on a railroad. Topping that came when Buster was in a gag that involved a 2,000-pound, 3-story house which fell onto him, and the only thing stopping him from getting crushed was a window that let him pass through the house with only a few spare inches around him. Buster Keaton managed to live a long and successful life, despite all of the dangerous stunts he pulled off. He died of lung cancer in 1966 at the age of 70.

Harold Lloyd

harold-lloyd

Another great actor of the silent (and sometimes not) classic comedy films, Harold Lloyd made nearly 200 films between the years 1914 and 1947. Lloyd was known as a true movie daredevil, most of his films had him performing some thrilling stunts, which kept his audiences in a sweat. In 1919 he was in a scene in Haunted Spooks where he was to carry around a prop bomb; however, the prop bomb was actually functional, and it exploded. In the explosion, Lloyd lost his index finger and thumb. Lloyd’s other famous stunts involved walking on skyscrapers and hanging from a clock tower in Safety Last! Harold Lloyd died in 1971 of prostate cancer at the age of 77.

Matt Damon

matt-damon

As Jason Bourne, Matt Damon had to do the majority of his own stunts. Damon said he was especially nervous when he was doing a scene in the water, because “to drown is a very human fear.” When panic sets in, a stunt can be dangerous to all of the stunt cast and crew, but luckily Damon had it under control. Another scene in a Bourne film had him jumping over off a bridge, which was also fairly unnerving for the actor. He also did all the car crash stunts in the series. Matt Damon has also done other stunts in films such as Saving Private Ryan, and Courage Under Fire.

Christian Bale

christian-bale

Christian Bale is no stranger to the danger of a good stunt. In Batman, he did all his own kicking, punching, and running. In Rescue Dawn he swung from a helicopter – dangerous, yes, but insane? No. What was insane was losing 63 pounds in a matter of months for his role in The Machinist. Bale went on a crash diet of nothing but coffee and apples. If you’ve seen the film, you’ll notice that his character starts out at a healthy weight, and then deteriorates. Director Brad Anderson never asked Bale to perform such a task, but in the end Bale was quoted as saying that it was “very calming mentally.” At his peak of weight loss, he tipped the scale at 121 pounds.

Jackie Chan

jackie-chan

Jackie Chan’s long list of stunts are almost equally dangerous, to the point where choosing a ‘most dangerous’ one would not do him enough justice. He got cuts, bruises, 2nd degree burns and almost paralyzed himself while shooting Police Story, injured his neck in a clock tower free-fall in Project A, cracked his head open to the point where he bled out of his ears in Armor Of God. His most dangerous stunt is one that if done wrong, would have definitely killed him. In Who Am I? he had to fight off bad guys on top of a very high building in Holland. He had to get down to the ground below using the quickest way possible – which was to slide down the side of the 21-story building (which was slanted about 45 degrees). Jackie Chan remains one of the most inspirational stuntmen in modern film.

Viggo Mortensen

viggo-mortensen

In his breakthrough role as Aragorn in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, Viggo Mortensen performed all of his own stunts. Peter Jackson referred to Viggo, and two other stuntmen as “the walking wounded” due to all of the injuries they sustained while filming the trilogy. While filming a fight scene, Viggo actually had one of his teeth knocked out and had it repaired over lunch, and returned to work immediately afterward. However, his most dangerous stunts were actually performed in the movie Hidalgo, where he was to race at breakneck speeds on horseback – a stunt that the professional stuntmen would not even attempt. Luckily Viggo is a skilled horseback rider and did not sustain any injuries at all during filming.

Tom Cruise

tom-cruise

Surprisingly, Tom Cruise’s most dangerous stunt was not jumping up and down on Oprah’s sofas. Cruise has been known to do his own stunts in action movies, but in Mission: Impossible he was quite adventurous. He dodged trucks, did some extreme rock climbing and could have even drowned. In the scene where a large number of aquariums inside a restaurant were broken, shards of glass and a flood of 16 tons of water came rushing towards our dearest hero and could have easily killed him. Originally the stunt was to be done with a stuntman, but the director felt that the scene wasn’t real enough without having Cruise to do it himself, so he stepped up to the plate and pulled it off like a champ.

Keanu Reeves

keanu-reeves

Keanu is one of those guys that you poke fun of for having a lack of any emotion, expression, and most of the time, a lack of presence. That being said, Keanu is a man of action. He’s not afraid to get down and dirty to pull off a stunt. Most notably in the movie Speed, Keanu’s director, Jan de Bont, would not allow him to attempt one of the movies more dangerous stunts where Keanu’s character Traven was to jump from a car onto the bus at high speeds. However, Keanu secretly rehearsed the scene, practicing day in and day out without the director knowing – and on the day of the scene Keanu insisted on doing the stunt himself and almost gave de Bont a heart attack by executing it flawlessly.

Harrison Ford

harrison-ford

Harrison Ford’s most famous roles include Han Solo from Star Wars, as well as the Indiana Jones series. As Indy, Harrison Ford was set up to do many of his own stunts. Even in the most recent Indiana Jones flick, Harrison Ford did 90% of his own stunts. Not bad for a 65 year-old man! Harrison’s stunts were only really considered dangerous because of his age, but he would repeatedly attempt the same stunt until he got it right, without taking a break.

Sylvester Stallone

sylvester-stallone

Even Rambo himself can’t stop the aging process. Sylvester Stallone, at the age of 61, performed a great deal of his own stunts in the most recent Rambo movie, proving that age is only a number. Of course, his ripped physique and a lot of experience led this actor to do his own risky stunts in the entire Rambo series.

Jason Statham

jason-statham

You’ve seen him in movies like Snatch, The Italian Job, and The Transporter. His passion for stunt driving has lead him into some very dangerous situations, like when filming the movie Crank. Statham had to drive high-speed through the streets of LA on a motorbike – wearing nothing but a hospital gown. Had he crashed, he would have not only taken a fair bit of road-rash, but also a fair bit of public embarrassment. Statham also did his own stunts in Death Race.

Brandon Lee

brandon-lee

Bruce Lee was a great action movie hero and a professional in martial arts. His son, Brandon Lee was following in his father’s footsteps when he died. In the movie The Crow, the stunts were not so extreme, but in the end it was an unknowingly dangerous stunt that lead to a fatal injury. In a prop malfunction, a blank bullet had been lodged into the gun and on the next trigger pull, Lee was shot. When the director yelled, “cut” Lee was unresponsive. He died hours later at the age of 28.
