Alicia Keys Splits From Manager Of 10 Years Jeff Robinson

Marriage and baby aren’t the only big changes on the horizon for soul star Alicia Keys: The alleged adulteress has “amicably” split from her longtime manager Jeff Robinson, opting to handle her own businessmatters. In a recent statement, Keys says that the split is “mutually agreed upon and amicable.”
The “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready)” hitmaker plans to hand the reigns over to her own business company, AK Worldwide, ending a 10-year relationship with Robinson that began at the onset of her career. Keys, now 29, has counted her former manager as a personal friend since she was just 14 and will continue to consult Robinson on her future albums. After all, he did help produce her first four.
The expectant songbird will now personally handle more important decisions on touring, music licensing, and film and TV deals.
A statement released to Billboard.com Friday read: “This decision will allow Alicia more control over all aspects of her career from singing and songwriting, to leading many business ventures and social causes. (The decision was) mutually agreed upon and amicable.”
Alicia is expecting her first child with producer fiance Swizz Beatz this fall, prompting some music insiders to believe that the lanky former DJ may be the real culprit behind the dissolution of Keys’ business relationship with Robinson:
“Over the past few weeks, Its been pretty tense in house. Swizz Beatz has been there and has been taking a pretty active role of being a manager. He has been pitching her to people and he’s becoming very vocal in the direction of her career.”
